US F-1 Visa Interview Experience

Image
Hi there, welcome to my blog. Hope you are having a wonderful day! Recently, I had my F-1 visa interview at the US Consulate General, Mumbai . Sharing my experience below.  If you want to delve right into the questions, please click here . I interviewed on April 17, 2023. My slot was early in the morning at 8:50 AM. I reached there around 7:15 AM and was surprised to see a long queue of applicants waiting outside the consulate already!  The good thing here is that you are called inside as per your slot . So, you needn't worry if you see tons of people gathered outside. There were essentially 2 sections. One was just outside the consulate – this is where the main queue was present – people who had their slot in the next 30 mins were called up to stand in this queue. The other section was across the road where people just waited for their slots. Once your slot is called up, you need to go to the main queue. My slot was called up around 8:15 AM. IPL - Important Part of Life

The last time I wrote, it was the day we lost the WC’19 semifinal to NZ. Incidentally, that was the last time everybody saw MSD on a cricket ground.  A lot has happened in the past 437 days I must say.  MSD walking out today surely would have pleased countless souls, including mine. Although being an avid MI fan, today’s loss didn’t vex me at all. If I were to extend that, I think nobody cared much about who was going to win today’s match. The realisation that cricket is finally back was enough to instil hope in everybody’s lives.  These are tough times, people! And it’s uncanny how things like IPL bring a sense of normalcy in our lives. This is probably the most awaited IPL season of all time. I’m just happy that for the next couple of months, we all have something to look forward to.  Thanks IPL! :)

Today's game: A rollercoaster of emotions.

Before the start of the world cup, there was a lot of talk that this edition would be all about high-scoring 330+ games. But to everyone's surprise, many important games panned out as "a shorter test match rather than a longer T20 game" Looking at the scoreboard after the first innings, NZ posted a formidable score on the board. India would have been quite confident about the chase at the halfway mark. But New Zealand believed they were in the game if they strike early. And this belief bolstered after the early damage done to the Indian top order. India was suddenly 5-3 in no time, credit to top-quality fast bowling effort by the Kiwi bowlers. This pushed India on the backfoot. Pant and Kartik played out the remaining overs in the first powerplay before Kartik getting dismissed by a stunning catch by Neesham. Now a lot of people were surprised seeing Pandya coming to bat instead of Dhoni. But the duo played sensibly for ten-odd overs before Pant succumbed to the bu...
